I have decided that if this baby is a boy, we will not be getting a circumcision.

I was undecided, and my husband is circ'ed so I was leaning toward that.

My sisters both have circ'ed boys and they think it is "creepy" to not do it.

But I will not do this to my child. I have read everything on this board and I now fully understand the reality of circumcision.

I can't do it to my baby. Thank you.

Congratulations on your new found knowledge and open mind! It actually sounds more "creepy" to cut parts off of other people's bodies. Hannibal Lechter, where are you?

So glad to read you will not subject your son to this procedure. When I change my son and I look at all the parts that would be removed(and parts that would be exposed), and I shudder thinking of all that loss because it is a huge portion of his genitals that is removed.
A mutilated penis is sadly the norm for many.Over time it will change though.

Good for you! My dh is circed and my ds is intact and it has been completely fine and normal. In fact, seeing my ds's perfect little body has made me so heartbroken for my dh, imagining him as a little tiny baby helplessly suffering under the knife.

It takes guts to stand up to family; you should be proud of yourself!
