I wanted to thank everyone who took the time to educate me on circumcision.

My spouse who is circumcised was not sure how he would feel about us not doing the same if we had a son (I guess he wanted his son to look like him), after about 2 seconds reading the posts with me, we decided 100% to not do that to our child-NEVER...

You have saved us a world of pain and anguish.... Thanks so much.

It really was a no-brainer for us. Its a relief!

Very happy for you, and any sons you might have! Congratulations.

Hope you have a great birth.

Take care,
Tara&Callum&EDD09/20/04

P.S. my dh is circed our son is not and my dh is very happy with the decision to leave him and any others we have intact. He really doesn't mind not "matching". I'm sure it won't matter to either of your "guys" either(that is if you have a little guy!)

I'm glad to hear it, in the long run you'll be happy with your decision. My dh is and he didn't want his boys to come into the world with their first experience being terrible pain.

Yay! For both you and your dh to have the courage to break away from a tradition that needs to go the way of leeches and bloodletting.

My dh is also circed and has zero problems with our ds being intact and is happy we left him as he was born (although dh is still not the intactivist I'd like him to be). You'll see if you have a boy....it's so completely and totally NORMAL when you see his little bitty baby penis, which looks nothing like Daddy's anyway at this age and stage. It's just the way it is.

now quirky, leeches have a medical use- don't go classifying something that actually does something *good* with circumcision, lol.

Yeah, I know, I know, I actually did a speech about medical uses of leeches in college....but you know what I mean! How about, I dunno, routine administration of mercury salts as a substitute?
