To any gardeners out there, you can imagine my new names for my Lobelia and Climatis. In fact, my dd's pre-k teachers came over and said "Jackie, How are your labia and clitoris doing?" I about died, then I remembered that I had shared my little joke with them last year.

One of my friends works in a garden center, and had an *adult* come in and ask her about "Chlamidia Plants" I don't know how she held it together!!

Oh, my, is this the place where I can mention that today, while I was "trimming," I actually clipped my inner labia?!

OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just can't imagine sending a newborn for a MAJOR "trim!!!"

Well, thanks, Earthmama!

Tried to warn my 13yo, she told me she doesn't trim "that far down."

When I informed her of the advantages, such as less "pull" during pad changes, she seemed more receptive.

My thought- Holy Moly, have my labia stretched THAT FAR?!!!!!!!!

For those of you who've been worried sick about my nicked labia, just thought I'd let you know that it seems to be healing well.

I've stayed off it, and let it rest.
Thank you for your heartfelt concern...

Too funny.... Of course my $0.02 is why use scissors? Just shave it all! (You still have to be careful with that too of course! Nothing practice won't perfect.) More advantages than just "no pad pull". :LOL I know... TMI!!

You know, I might just do that!

I've thought about waxing, but... too chicken.
How do yo think those strippers get 'em so bare??? Not that I want to be THAT bare...

Oh thank goodness!!!!...I was just worried sick about that labia! I just wasn't too sure how long the healing process would be, you are pulling through beautifully. Your right about staying of of it, it isn't something you can just 'walk off'. :

Strippers? I don't know. Maybe they had it permanantly removed? How bare is "that bare"? Shaving it will be BARE! I find it more comfortable, cooler, less messy... You mean doing your own waxing? Because I don't know of too many places that do "Brazillian waxes".

Earthmama,
Your concern means so much to me in my time of distress.

I thought about 'walking it off,' but could only picture a fish walking on its fins?

It sounds strange, but I found an electric beard trimmer to be most effective. Not as close as shaving... but no risk of ingrown ickies, or nicks either. Sort of like a really short buzz cut.... : I can't believe I just typed that out for the world to see!

Oh! The beard trimmer was a thought a while back, then I forgot about it again!
I also worried that the cashier would "know" what I was really buuying it for!

I use dh's beard trimmer all the time. I'm just mad that I ever let ds #1's dad ever talk me into shaving it that one time. I found it extremely uncomfortable and the hedges need trimming now and again, and never did before that one time I should have listened to my mom. She told me when I was 12 that I'd regret it the rest of my life if I started shaving (I have fine unnoticable white hair where I didn't shave on my legs). Mom always did have the best advice. Still does. LOL!

Shave, then use anti-persperant. Not that I have personal experience, I just know some dancers.
Even though I know it, I haven't tried it. You're on your own, ladies.

(I use the beard trimmer)

Most spas will do Brazilian waxes, but I'm not that close to my waxer to have it done. I get the rest waxed though, much better than shaving.

I still have trouble saying perineum. Not sure of the pronunciation, so try to avoid it!!

And my dh hates that our girls know all the correct words.

I know this is an old thread, but it's hilarious!

I, too, accidentally trimmed my labia once. Mine was the right outer labia, I took off a chunk about 7/8" long, 1/6" wide, 1/10" deep. It was soooo horrible. It hurt for days and days and days. Taking a shower was agony, as the water running down my body made it throb and burn, and that was NO soap. It was sooo awful. Wow.
