What can I do for quick t-shirts?
You can go to the craft store and get this http://joanns.com/catalog.jhtml;$ses...&PRODID=143674 .

Then you can print whatever you want on your t-shirts.
I'm sure someone can help you out with a slogan if you don't already have one in mind.

I hope it will be a good turn-out. I think this movement needs some good momentum. I will likely be posting to my local AP moms group list shortly. I am also trying to determine when exactly I will be going by. I work, so Friday evening might be a bit much for me and DD after a full work day for me and a daycare day for her. So it's probably looking like Sat or Sun late morning and stay until DD gets wiped out.

I was actually half wondering about starting a web group for this event and any other intactivist activities that come along. Or is there already one? I wasn't sure who to "ask". And I wasn't sure if it was even really necessary. With the Delta nurse-ins it became necessary to start a lactivism group since they were coordinating so many people in numerous cities. And it still has a lot of activity.

Anyone have any thoughts?

I'd like to come on Sunday for the march. I don't have a t-shirt or a sign. Is that going to be odd? Are there any handouts I should print and copy? Is that allowed during the march? I guess I'm just wondering what to do to prepare/bring with me.

And I may be alone and I'm an introvert and have a hard time with first encounters so I might have a hard time approaching folks at first.

It will not be odd. You don't need a T-shirt or a sign, but if you have one that you want to wear or bring that's great. David Wilson has lots of banners for people to carry in the march if they don't have their own. For example:

THE FORESKIN IN NOT A BIRTH DEFECT

CIRCUMCISION
IS UNNECESSARY
AND HARMFUL

CIRCUMCISION
VIOLATES
HUMAN RIGHTS

WHOSE PENIS?
WHOSE BODY?
WHOSE RIGHTS?

Some of the banners are big (4 ft x10 ft) and need two or three people to carry them in the march.

We will have handouts, but if you want to bring something else that's okay.

In my opinion the best thing to give people are the 3x5 cards. We will have a supply of cards for people to distribute.

Intactivists are a friendly group of people. They will be delighted to meet you. Please don't be shy in introducing yourself.

You don't need to talk to the public unless you feel comfortable with it. You can just listen to other intactivists as they talk with people.

If you don't want to talk with people but want to communicate a message, you can carry one of the placards.

This year we have four handheld placards. One has a picture of a baby with a surprised look that says "You wanna cut off WHAT?" The tourists always take lots of photos of that placard.

I am looking forward to meeting everyone.

Does anyone know a good place to park that is walking distance from where we will be on the west lawn? I dont mind walking a little ways. I'll have my babe in the moby. My husband is going to take our daughter to the museums and things and meet me later. I just need to figure out a decent place to park so I know where to head to with the car.

Starting to clean out the car and pack our bags for the big demo! My dh is sick so I am bringing my mom and dad and sweet Ivan.

If we save one baby or change one mind, it will all be so worth the travel, expense and emotional output.

Today was the first day of the demonstration. We got started a little late, but it was a good day. The weather was beautiful. It was sunny and warm all day. Be sure to bring sun screen for Friday and Saturday.

We passed out lots of 3x5 cards and talked with lots of people. The reaction of Europeans is the most interesting. They can't believe we circumcise boys in this country. I talked with an exchange student from Sweden for a while.

I don't know about parking near the Capitol. The Smithsonian web site might have information about parking.

Tomorrow is the anniversary of the FGM law.

Horrendous traffic made us too late to come to the march today. I'll be there tomorrow.
