Intactivists,

I am curious. How many of you are Democrats, Independents, or Republicans? Please vote. All votes are annonymous.

I voted other because I am not American.

I am very left wing.

I voted Dem, because that is how I am registered and how I often vote. However my political leanings are much farther left of usual Democrats.

I voted Democrat because that's how I'm registered. But I don't feel any loyally to a certain party. Neither of the major parties sound that different on the issues I really care about. I find myself leaning more Libertarian everyday!!

I'm VERY MUCH Canadian and actually follow U.S. politics intensely. I don't follow Canadian politics, but vote NDP. IF I were able to vote in a U.S. election, I'd vote Democrat almost EVERY time. If the candidate was that bad, then I'd vote independent, if available or not vote at all.

I am not affiliated with any political party. My political beliefs are generally pretty moderate, although maybe tend towards the conservative side on some issues.

If this ever became a major national issue (like abortion or something) I wonder what party would pick up the issue, and which denounce it?

Question: If this ever became a hot topic openly discussed, national issue, and your party was against banning circumcisions for infants, would you consider changing parties? If not, what would you do?

good question. I don't think I could support a canidate or party that was pro-MGM. However, with that being said, there are many isues to weigh, when you have to cast a vote for someone.

You have to prioritize these issues. Some are tough to choose between!
Should I choose the rock or the hard place? For instance, what's more important to you: reducing crime or improving the educational system? There are so many of these tough choices in life, esp. when voting.

Well let me ask you this, would you ever consider voting for a candidate or a party that wanted to legalize female circumcision in the United States again. Yet at the same time, they supported other issues that were very important to you (like improving the education system, or reducing crime).

I voted Republican because I'm registered Republican and usually vote that way, but my political philosophy is really more libertarian.

Would I support a party that wanted to re-legalize FGM? I can't imagine on what grounds someone would take that platform, so probably not. If they supported MGM, I would probably think they were just another sad, misinformed American so I probably wouldn't change my stance for that.

So you would change your stance from a party/candidate that supported to legalize FGM, but not for one that wanted to keep MGM legal?

Well I am Independent, but tend to vote Dem. Would I vote for an
anti-circ Republican party?

I doubt that I would ever have to make such a decision, because according to our informal poll, I think the Dems are more likely to pick it up before any of the other parties do. You should ask a Republican this instead.
