I just fell while carrying my 25 lb DS No worries, no permanent damage...he never even woke up. My ankle just gives out from time to time and it's worse when I'm pg. I usually can regain my balance, but with the extra weight of my son, all I could do was go down and land knees first onto the sidewalk. I can already feel my muscles tightening.

Anyway, no real point to this post, but just a warning to 1st time moms that as the pregnancy progresses, your joints will start to loosen a bit to prepare for birth, so be careful and watch your step!

I just fell about two weeks ago, too, pretty bad. I still have awful purple/brown/yellow bruises all over my knees. Pretty much the same thing happened to me, but I was getting out of an aluminum skiff with grating, carrying my 30 lb 2 year old, and tripped and couldn't regain my balance... OUCH...!

Mama to 3 kids. We live in a yurt!

Yeah, I have an old ankle sprain that starts to bother me again when I'm pregnant.

Im glad your son and you are both ok. I learned to be extra careful walking when I got further along last time. Luckily the only time I almost fell when I was pregnant with DD I was walking with a co-worker who was able to stop me from falling (thank goodness he was bigger than me so I didn't end up causing both of us to go down). I learned a lesson though, be careful when you further along, I had walked the same hill probably hundreds of times before without a problem.

This time my biggest worry is going up and down stairs. I live on the second story apartment and Ive almost tripped down the stairs when I was not pregnant. Maybe its time to let DH carry DD down instead of me.

Funny, my old ankle sprain started acting up yesterday after a long walk and I never even considered it was because of pg. All I could think was "where did this come from?" It's all becoming clear to me now...I'm just going to blame all my ailments on pregnancy from now on

Yes, thankfully I escaped with a sore leg for a day or two. Not even my knees that I landed on were sore. I didn't really go down hard or fast, but I was carrying my son so it made it harder than it would have been if it had just been me.
