This isn't my DDC, but I figured it might be a good place to post it since you're all just a bit ahead of me (EDD Dec. 1).

I think I started feeling movement with this baby right at 12 weeks. I thought I felt quite a bit of movement up until about 13.5 weeks (for some reason this time I'm never quite sure if I'm really feeling movement or not), and then a little bit of movement off and on since then (15 weeks now). I haven't felt anything for the last three days. Does this sound normal? With my DD I started feeling movement at 14.5 weeks and felt a bit every day starting at 15.5 weeks.

Too funny, I'm Nov 29th, so not too far from you!

This is exactly what I'm experiencing. However, last night I was laying in bed and felt something skinny and hard...I think it must have been a leg! I started pushing on it, and the baby started pushing back! I ended up with one who side hard (maybe a back?) and the other side squishy. So I know things are ok in there, just the bean isn't big enough yet to make him/herself known every minute of the day...YET! Hee hee.

Definitely! The baby is still super tiny and has lots of places to hide. I don't think you're "supposed" to feel regular movement (as in every day) until something like 25 weeks.

Mama to DS R (June/06), DD K (September/07), DS M (October/08), DD R (June/09)... waiting for #5 in late 2013!!

Yep! Totally normal at this stage of the game! Many people dont' even feel baby at all until about 17 weeks. I'm nearly 19 weeks and movement still feels pretty sporadic, even though I felt this little one pretty early on. Sometimes early on, it's hard to discern better movement and gas too.

Yeah... most people don't feel movement until 17-18 weeks, like a PP said. I didn't feel it until about 16 weeks I think. Now at almost 20 weeks the movement I feel is very irregular and gentle, and sometimes only once or twice a day. I had an ultrasound the other day and the tech said that the baby weighs only 10 oz, so it's basically just over half a pound. Not very big!

I'm 17 weeks on Thursday and have felt movement since 13 weeks. Around 16 weeks I stopped feeling movement at all. We heard babies heartbeat yesterday, so we know all is well, it just seems baby has scooted over and is behind more cushion than earlier.

Sounds like what I've experienced. I started feeling flutters at around 13 weeks, they got more pronounced for a couple of weeks and then totally went away. At the same time, I got noticeably bigger, so I think my uterus had just grown up out of my pelvis and the baby had more room. Now (16 wks) I'm feeling flutters again, but higher up. I really can't wait until the movement is noticeable from the OUTSIDE - my kids will be so excited!

I would say completely normal. I had something similar happen to me.

I am just starting to feel it more consistently (almost 18 weeks) but with two other children to care for I think it diverts my attention a little and even it is enough to feel, I probably didn't notice, kwim?

Totally normal. I have been feeling movement since 11wks, but it was definitely inconsistant. It is just now starting to pick up at almost 17wks.

I emailed my midwife with the exact same question. She assured me it was normal. Little fetus has tons of room to swim around so it may not always kick where we can feel it.

It was the same for me earlier, too. I started to get worried at one point, but then baby started moving again.
