LOVE THE BEADS! They are all so unique and different!

I'm not a crafty type of person, so I took my beads into the local bead shop and they are going to string it into a bracelet for me (I never wear necklaces). I'll post pics when its done

I just started mine last night. It's about half done. I have one bead that won't fit on my 24 gauge ss wire though... one end of the hole is too narrow. I need to see if I can fix it, otherwise I will use thread somehow.

I LOVE them all. My sister brought home her beads and string and stuff this weekend, so hopefully I will put it together soon.

I am a symmetrical kind of person so I have been playing with them trying to make pairs to go up either side of the necklace.

I can't wait to see everyone's pics in their necklaces.

Here's mine! It was done the day after I sent out the "the beads are sorted!" email I was waiting to share pics until most people got their beads! These don't really do it justice, but here they are anyway...

I did my best for pictures!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...cture028-1.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...Picture030.jpg

It was pretty easy. All I bought was the wire, clasps, jump rings and... erm... I guess "clamps" of sort? I used them to "hold" the wire closed. Honestly, I've NEVER made jewelry before- I just sort of stared at the bead/jewelry aisle of Michaels until I figured out what I needed!

I put one end of the clasp on, and started threading beads- 25 green beads, then I did 1 bead after every 5 green bead. When I got to the center where I wanted to make the seperate section, I added extra wire alongside the "main" wire and held it there with the "clamp" (I wish I knew what those things were called!!), strung the other beads on it (and my mama pendant), then joined it again with the "main" wire. Then I just carried on with my 5 green beads/1 birth bead pattern until the end, where I added the other clasp.

Oh man. I wonder if that made ANY sense to anyone?! Like I said, I am no jewelry maker. It was fun, but pretty finicky and frustrating. I think I will be sticking with knitting

that necklace is sooo pretty! My concern now is that I won't get anything made with the beads! I am not a jewelry maker and have no supplies to make anything. I had originally planned to go to the bead shop that's aobut 40 min. away (the closest one!) and see if they could help me make it, but money is SOOO tight right now, I have no clue when I'd be able to afford that.

I can't wait to see what everyone else's look like!

a crimp bead you squish or crimp them to hold on a variety of things.

anyways i need to go buy more jump rings so i can finish mine. I was on my way out and then MIL showed up. I will post pics when i am done. On a sad note, i broke the beautiful bead from Jeaniethe OT. i was putting too much pressure as i was trying to put it on the wire, and tighten it up.

I got my beads! I was avoiding this thread until I got them so as to not be "spoiled". They're so great, now to string them.

The beads are SOOOOOO gorgeous!! I can't wait to string them. I wasn't planning on being too creative - just stringing them all in a row on some black silk thread or something - but you guys are inspiring me to maybe try something different!

Very pretty!!! I started mine last night, and was almost done so I decided to finish it this morning while the boys were playing. Apparently, our kitten has the same impulse control of ds2 and well, lets just say, I'm starting from square one!

OK well I have NEVER made jewelry before. So I think I didnt do to bad. Its not exactly what I had in mind, but if I turn out really not to like it, I will just take it apart and start over. Maybe in 5 weeks when I am sitting at home waiting for the new bun to arrive.

I got a little carried away with the other beads, but you get the idea. Hope everyone had fun making theres. I know I got a really special feeling the minute I put mine on!

See, i love this! I had a totally different idea of that I wanted in my head, but I had never made a necklace before, and got completly carried away. My necklace is way to big. I will probably have to take it apart and start from scratch. And I have just been put on LIGHT duty at work, (meaning I basically come in and hold the chair down unless the woman I trained has a question) My boss even told me I should take up knitting or something to help the time pass, so maybe I will just take my necklace apart and start from scratch.
