Yuck! I got a call from the midwife and they arent happy with the way the pills are working (Ive been having contractions at the end of the 4 hour window). So, they are setting me up with home monitoring and putting a needle in my leg to inject the medication at regular intervals. im just waiting for the nurse to call with a time. Im so grossed out, the needle will have to stay in, and get changed every 5 days. They do it 2 times, then I will have to do it myself. Fortunately, i will be 37 weeks on Oct 20th, so only 20 more days to go.

OK, so its in. They monitored me while the nurse was here, and I had 12 contractions in 1 hr, so they gave me a big dose of medication and then Im on the monitor again for another hour. The needle isnt as bad as I imagined, I hardly feel it, but I do have to change it myself every 5 days, which is gross. But, it could be worse, we could be in the NICU with a preterm baby.

I also hope the 20 days fly by, but knowing how hard the bedrest can be i doubt it will. That seems so long, maybe just less than 3 weeks sounds better. any ways i hope it works and can keep that babe in.

BTW what is your EDD, it seems like they want you to keep that babe in for a while still. I guess middle of the month or so. (or i could just go look at the due date thread, being that i keep that up)- ha ha your due the 10th, and they are getting you to 37 weeks. (my homebirth is okayed at 36 1/2)

Big mama. The 20 days will fly by! That's only 2 or 3 needle changes yourself right?

Yeah, its only 3 needle changes, so not bad.
Im going to see the midwife on monday, so maybe shell let me stop the meds at 36 weeks. i cant have a waterbirth at the center until 37 weeks, though, so well see.

I had a pump (zofran) for about 12 weeks earlier on in this pregnancy, and you get used to it.

How do you do with the terb? I was on it with DD and it was pure torture.

I wish you a fast 20 days!

Thanks ladies,

The terb has made me racy, but my body has gotten used to it. Well, until they upped the dosage yesterday on the pump. I could have run a marathon last night at 430am, when a big dose was administered, that was fun!!

But it does seem to be working, only 1-3 cx/hour now!!
