HI

My husband just enrolled our unvaxed 17 month old son in swimming class at a YMCA.
We have taken our son to swim in salt water pools before but not on a chlorinated pool before....

Have you taken your unvaxed kiddo to swimming classes ?

I admit I tend to get a bit anxious about these things...
Thanks!!!

I have taken DD swimming. Our local pool is salt water. I never gave a second thought to going swimming. I dont really think about that stuff. I just live life like anyone else would. i would be more concerned about the chlorine than the germs at the pool IMO.

I don't think twice about taking my unvaxed kiddos anywhere. I would never consider the pool to be a dangerous place other then the chorine issue. We do pools all the time, I just make the kids take a shower afterwards to rinse the chemicals out.

There is no way to happiness, happiness is the way.

I would be more concerned about the chlorine than diseases. Chlorine is NASTY stuff.

My vax free 6 yo has been swimming at the y since she was 1 week old. (DH is the membership coordinator there). I never even thought about her vaccinations status for that.

What are your specific concerns?

The nasties typically picked up in pools do not have vaccines.

"It should be a rule in all prophylactic work that no harm should ever be unnecessarily inflicted on a healthy person (Sir Graham Wilson, The Hazards of Immunization, 1967)."
