My son will be going to Kindergarten in the Fall.  I wrote his Rel Exemption letter last year, after pouring through tons of information that I received from Gary Krasner.  I have been following him for 3+ years.  I submitted it last year and it was fine for preschool.

Now that he is going to NYC public, I am terrified.  I opened my letter and do not feel confident.  i want someone to back me.  I found Patricia Finn's number in one of these blogs, referred by a Mom.  I called and spoke with her assistant and felt very confident... But the fee is $950.  Am I getting taken? I only paid half so far...

Has anyone used her? Please help me feel more confident about my decision.  Now I feel I should have called other lawyers...?

TIA!

I am not going to comment on the vaccination aspect, but $950 to work with a well-known NYC-area attorney is not really all that out of line.

The fee sounds okay, but I am confused as to why you think you need a lawyer at this point…… there are NY mommas on this forum, hopefully one of them will chime in.  You can also find NY mommas on "finding your tribe"

I am so afraid that they will deny me. I just had my third baby and my mind is just not focused enough. They are tough here, and I think that having a lawyer assist me will "almost" guarentee no problems. And also ease my mind. Last year I tried to get Gary Krasner to review my letter, but he would not. I just want it done right.

Honey, you get what you pay for. That $950 may be worth it's weight in gold just to have that lawyer's letterhead at the top and name scrawled at the bottom! With a new baby, you don't have *time* to go on a wild goose chase online hunting for info.

Last year, I was the victim of workplace bullying. I called a labor lawyer and spoke with her for an hour over the phone for $250. It was worth it at the time to me.
