new mexico exemption can take up to 60 days for approval if I were to move there would I request an exemption before I move? I am unsure of how to go about this I plan to cross post in nm finding your tribe. any advice would be great.

I would think if your other ducks are in order for moving, filing ahead of time shouldn't be a problem.  When you move, you want everything in place, to be able to go from one state to the other, and get right into your new lives.  It wouldn't make sense if everyone's school's and jobs were changed ahead of time, but you wouldn't be allowed to file an exemption in time for when you arrive.
