My friend's kid just broke her arm, and the dr's insisted the child be up to date on her tetanus vaccinations....I'm confused. Why for a broken bone? Anyone know?

If it was a compound fracture (skin broken at fracture site) then I can see why. If it was a simple fracture then no, no reason.
