I thought this was an interesting article by Dan Olmstead about the "missing" severely autistic children in California in the younger age groups. California banned the use of thirmerosal in vaccines for pregnant women and young children and was out by 2008, although it has now back in with mercury containing flu vaccines and the more severe austism is being seen in the  1 1/2 to 2 years again. The observations of the commentators are also interesting and seem to corroborate this phenomenon.

Very interesting! Long read, and a little wandering...but it does bring up excellent points.
