This is more of an exasperated venting than anything. We had a new birth in my extended family and, while the nb is doing fine, she was born premature(32weeks). It goes without saying that now is not the time to visit her and frankly were not in a super rush as they live several hours away and the baby just needs to bond w parents and grow! However, my in laws mentioned that the nb's grandma (my hubby's aunt) declared that since our kid isn't vaccinated that we can't be around the nb for months if not a year bc the nb has to delay on vax bc of her premature system. We are a threat to her grandchild. From my knowledge, the baby should be ultra protected from ANYONE, vax or not, until she's matured a bit but I feel singled out and the Typhoid Mary of my hubby's family even though we are an extremely healthy family. I don't judge vaccinated families yet we are judged frequently. Ah well.

Sorry that you are feeling the brunt of it. Wonder why the grandmother is making the call? Shouldn't it be up to the parents??? But, yes, you are right that they should be taking precautions from all people, including those with "just a little cough/runny nose" and those recently vaxxed with live vaxxes.
