I agree. I would be furious if this is what my kids were being taught in first grade. They are obviously been given misinformation as teens in health class, but I have already had the chance to teach them otherwise, so they just laugh it off as ignorant garbage that they are obliged to regurgitate for grade purposes. But first graders?

Can't start early enough with conditioning the kids. It has been done all throughout history for various reasons and it is not astonishing to me that the medical field is using it too!

I would be LIVID.  That's really comparable to teaching a mixed group of kids that Christianity is the only acceptable religion and ostracizing the rest....weren't we supposed to have moved past all this shit??!  Same shit different target.  I hate common core for a variety of reasons and we've been selecting schools based on avoidance of it because some here in CT are just over the top with implementing CC and it's having huge negative impacts on the kids and teachers being forced to use it.  Shit like that reeeeeaaaaaally makes me think homeschooling would be in DD's best interest, but alas, bills must be paid and my stint working P/T can only last for so long.
