I'm Not Vaccinating > VA religious exemption - was there a change?

I have been seeing a lot of posts recently about a form for the VA religious exemption. Is this relatively new, say, in the last 2 years? I am almost positive it used to just be a notarized letter, so positive that this is what I gave my DCP 2 years ago. I even recall the blue form stating that it was a notorized letter by the parent that was needed, not the form that I see on there now (looked at it because of another post in this forum). Am I crazy?

I'm wondering if anyone knows if I need to replace the letter with this new form at my current DCP? They haven't asked me about it. I assume I would need to get this new form done if/when he changes providers (e.g. moving to preschool/kindergarden).

Thanks!

i don't know if it's been changed. ever since DD was born, it's been this form, i think. maybe ask your DCP if she knows of a new form you need.

yeah, i'd guess you need the form when you switch places, but it's super easy. just a signature and a notary stamp from your bank or somewhere.

or on second thought, maybe there's like a grandfather clause for letters so you don't have to do the form.

My mom just enrolled my sister and used a notorized letter. It was for high school, if that makes a difference. My mom said they just took it and said "Okay, thanks" and that was it.

PS -- Talking to my mom now, she says she has both a form and a letter. Sorry for the bad info! She says she got the form on the public schools website.

Thanks everyone. I'll just get the form when he moves to pre-school. I'll also give them the letter in case they care.

Appreciate your help!

Uh oh, did I miss something? I turned my exemption in to my kids' private school a few weeks ago and then got confirmation that all the paperwork was in. But school starts Monday and I'm terrified they're going to change their minds! What new form do you mean? TIA!
