Here in VA the only exemptions we can take for vaxes are religious or medical. However, we aren't religious. I know they aren't allowed to ask what religion we are, but is it really as simple as printing out the exemption form and signing it? It seems too easy. I'm afraid of getting caught "faking" being religious.

Yes they can't ask but they may try. I don't know about VA but some states define a religion as a deeply held set of personal beliefs.

Not literally that simple.....many(most?) states require you have the form notarized.

From the short time I've been reading here at MDC, there are quite a few discussions about this. I'm not net savvy enough to provide a link-but maybe just go back a few pages.

Not sure about VA specifics- but it's not known as a hard state.

We're not "religious" either, but I will always use a religious exemption- given a choice.

I'm in VA and have three kids. The religious exemption form for the state is an affadavit. You print it out and then have it notarized. I've NEVER had a problem. No one has asked me anything about my beliefs or given me any difficulty.
