I just rewatched this after seeing it some time ago. I decided to visit her blog only to find out that this video has become controversial. Glenn Beck got ahold of it and now it has become anti-American, marxist, indoctrinating, leftist propaganda. There were quite a few Beck followers who left responses on her blog entry about her response to Beck's attack on the film.

While I can agree that some of her statistics may not be right (I have no idea), the general concept is great -- overconsumption/wastefulness/exploitations = bad. I still find the film inspiring to do something different.

ETA: I just realized (doh!) that all that happened over a year ago. I feel silly now. I hope all that hoopla has died down now.

I have no idea about any hoopla, and don't care anyways. I really love that film. It was life changing for me. It really drove things home for me. I share that film every chance I get!

It is a great film. The book is good too. There is a lot of disturbing information in there that I found very inspiring to do more. Every time I'm tempted to buy something I think "Some person or village of people were worked almost to death to make that." Check out the Story of Bottled Water, too. thumb.gif
