So I have a pair of leather Dansko clogs that I've had for five years and I just love them. They're in great shape, except for one small hole in the toe of the left shoe. I don't have the cash to go buy another pair, so I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions for how I can fix the hole from the inside so that they're watertight again for this winter?

i just want to say that i had a pair of danskos break recently and i emailed the company.  they were SO FREAKING awesome in a customer service-y way that i haven't seen in a long time.

i would really suggest you call/email them.  i bet they can tell you what to do or you could probably send them in for repair.

i can't believe how nice they were to me.. the pair i had that broke is discontinued :( so they are replacing them with a brand new pair.  free.  i just had to ship them there.  and not to gush but they were so fast and personable in their email reply to my email.  it's just hard to find anybody like that these days, you know.

I also have a discontinued pair, and they told me there was nothing they could do when I called. :-( You win some, you lose some.

BOO.  I hope they were nice, at least.

here's a thought... what if you found one of those leather furniture repair patch kits?  would that work?

A good shoe repair shop should be able to repair the hole for not a lot of $.

Yeah, I think I'm going to have to go that route - I sure need them to be water tight before winter sets in. Now to find a good place to go...
