I finally decided to check out the TerraCycle website, but I must admit I don't quite get how it works. Can anyone help explain it to my feeble mind??
Do you just sign up and create a local group for collecting items to send directly to TerraCycle yourself, or do you join other "brigades" as they call them and send stuff to the brigade? I'm confused!!
Are there other recycling programs similar to TerraCycle that might be easier to use/understand?
Thanks for any help!

With terracycle you can collect items individually or with a group. You do have to sign up for a "brigade" and some fill up quickly. They each focus on a different item to recycle (foil juice pouches, cigarette butts, etc) When you're ready to make a shipment, you click a link on the brigade page and they will give you a mailing label. You mail your recycled items to them and get I think it is 2 points per eligible item. You can turn the points into monetary donations to a school or nonprofit, or you can use them to receive Terracycle's recycled products.
I just found out about it and have been collecting cigarette "butts" since they are ALL over my complex. I haven't shipped or redeemed yet.
