Does anyone know the number of the plastic that is used for cd cases? Once upon a time I saved ALL of the cd cases and put them in a box (they are empty). I would like to recycle them if I can. Our recycling center accepts Plastics #1-7 but I don't know what number the cases are, does anyone know?

They are not recyclable here. I asked our pick-up company specifically about jewel cases CDs come in.

My advice is to call wherever you would take them or the company who picks up your recycling, if applicable.

Try freecycling them. At my job we burn a lot of CDs and are always buying boxes.

Quoted: 0 Post(s) - they have a mail-in program for recycling cd jewels and all types of techno trash. It's not "free" but it's inexpensive and the "right" thing to do.
