I seriously LOVE my doula so much! She has helped us overcome SO many fears and anger from our last birth. And she's just the biggest sweetheart!

So I know we're paying her, but do you all get gifts for your doulas as well? I was thinking of giving my midwife a homemade banana bread when we go in for labor. What do you all think about for the doula? I feel like I owe her my life right now and we haven't even had the baby yet!

I think the banana bread is a good idea.

Sounds good to me. Most people like gifts of food.

That's a good idea. I might use it too! I'm also planning on getting mine some flowers. Flowers and banana bread... not sure about the olfactory side of it but I think that would make a good gift.

Thanks! I better go make sure I put everything organic in it, she brings her own sugar to our house because she knows we only have organic tea and milk but not sugar

Not sure what your budget is but I have always given and loved these little pottery statues of a birthing goddess, mothers, babies and such at www.bellpineartfarm.com They are tiny little statues but mean so much!

I'm planning to get my Doula a nice bottle of good whiskey as a thankyou present. But then, we've been friends for a long time and I know she'd appreciate it... I wouldn't be comfortable giving a bottle to my MW since I only know her "professionally". I'll probably give her a few jars of my homemade jelly instead.

I was hoping to have time to knit my midwife and her assistant something. I need to find something small to knit though.
