Especially third time mamas, are you feeling your uterus early? I'm 9.5 weeks, and my uterus is already well above my pubic bone.

Nope, can't feel mine yet. I'm about 7.5 weeks.

When did you start to feel it?

This is my third and I'm 10 weeks. I can't feel it but I know that it is retroverted so that may be why.

Yep, I can feel mine. I'm 8 weeks and it's almost halfway between my pubic bone and my belly button (is it supposed to be that high already??).

It's also bigger on my right side, so I'm guessing that's where the baby implanted.

That's where it normally is about 16 weeks. You might be doubling up!

I'm 9 weeks and can feel it right above my pubic bone... I have a VERY low pubic bone though. It normally rises above the pubic bone at 12 weeks.

I'm jealous, I never really could feel mine until it started kicking me. I definitely can't now though I assume its in there somewhere.

I'm 10.5 weeks and I can't feel it yet (and its my 3rd baby). However, I also have a tipped uterus, my doc says she thinks it may be the most tipped uterus she's ever seen (my cervix likes to hide, hee hee, GOOD cervix!).

The last few days I've worried a little big about my uterus becoming incarcerated because at times its difficult to pee. I've heard inversions and lying prone can help move it, as can cat/cow.

Can't wait though! I really am enjoying being pregnant!

Ok, two questions:

(1) How do you feel your uterus? How do you know it's not some other muscle?

(2) Is having difficulty peeing a normal thing? I've been noticing that too... not impossible, just not continuous any more. Without Kegels.

1) I've had 2 pregnancies, so I know what it feels like. It's very distinct from other parts, I think
2) I'm having a horrible time peeing. Yesterday I was in pain, I had to go, but I couldn't. It almost felt like a baby crowning, just not so intense.

YES!!! I have this too! I feel like I'm gonna pee myself, but then I go to pee and its trickles out, stopping occasionally.

I can feel mine; if I push in a little deeply, the top of it feels like it's nearly halfway to my bellybutton. I'm 9 weeks and a 3rd timer too.

The midwife on Friday helped me feel mine. I was 8w at that point. Mine is way up near my bellybutton on my left side.

With the peeing thing: do you think it's a UTI? It sounds a lot like a UTI Does it burn when you pee?

I've had UTIs and this is no UTI
No discomfort at all, just a lack of... water pressure, as it were.

What does it feel like?

I just noticed last night that the area above my pubic bone is hard when it is usually squishy. Is that it or just other things being shifted out of the way?

BTW I'm 6w2d and this is my first.

twin boys born 11/28/08, pregnant with #3 due 3/13/12

Biffer, probably at 6w it is just stuff being pushed out of the way, or bloat. Another 3 weeks or so and it will probably be your uterus! Although, with my first it was 12 or 13 weeks before I could feel it above my pubic bone.

When you can feel it, it feels hard and firm like a grapfruit...roundish.

Congrats and welcome!

Ok, I finally got around to measuring myself (the best I could anyway), and I'm measuring right at 10 cm; so not that far off

I can feel mine an inch or so above my pubic bone but not all the time. I make my husband feel for it mostly :-p.

Stay at home mom to three little boys born 6-06, 12-08, and 4-11.

I just started feeling it the last two days and I'm about 11 weeks prego. It's rather exciting. TMI but when having sex this morning, the pushing made it buldge out from my lower pelvis area. I kept laughing!

Mine was at my belly button at 12 weeks and now just a tad above my belly button There have been a few other things that I have noticed that are fulling me to at some point get an U/S I was leaning to getting one any way as I want to confirm that my placenta is no where near my scar but the size of my uterus, the fact that everything is worse this time around, already feeling little thumps?? Was still feeling the butterfly thing at this point in all my other pregnancies and the fact that I have been sooo sick that I hardly eat and have to force myself and have already gained 15 pounds : and I gained that total in my last 2 pregnancies. So yeah I will be getting it checked lol

lol. when I wake up in the morning I look about 5 months pregnant before I pee. It's weird, like my innards are all rearranged and my bladder is somehow now at the top of my belly.
I'm excited cause I can finally feel my uterus, about an inch above my pubic bone... how do you measure yourself? guess I'll ask my mw tomorrow

Yep, my uterus is at my belly button by the time I wake up (and I always get up once at night to go pee too!), although my tummy isn't pooching out too much yet.

To measure yourself you need a soft measuring tape (like a sewing one), and put it right at your pubic bone, find the top of your uterus (easier said than done sometimes!) and pull the tape up to there; hold it with your other hand and you should have your measurement! (centimeters, not inches )

Found mine this morning
The "hard grapefruit" description is definitely accurate.

ETA... this morning when I woke up and rolled onto my back, it was sticking up like a little hill halfway between my belly button and pubic bone!
