I've edited this post because I've come to the conculsion that as long as it's in moderation (for us meaning a few shows every few days) then it's okay. TV isn't the enemy to us as I thought, only if it takes over and keeps us from other things we should be doing. DD has done well with only 1 show every few days and we've been out of the house more at night time that it hasn't been an issue with DH much...we also gave him a hunting stories book for Christmas so he reads ALOt more! I'll keep up his stock on those!!! Moderation is always the key and hard to do sometimes!

I wish you luck. You may want to think of compiling a list of things you can do with your DD during the day so you dont have to come up with ideas on the spot when she says she wants to watch TV.
My DH is kind of a TV hound too, although not NEARLY as bed as before DS was born, I wish we could just toss it in the trash and never see it again :
