My kids are 3 and 2, and I've been a SAHM up until about 6 months ago, when I started working about 4-5 days or nights a month. My kids were TV-free (with the exception of the Food Network at the grandparents' home) until I started working, when they saw a few cartoons at the babysitter's home.

I wasn't happy about it, but it happens about twice a month when dh isn't caring for them, so I decided I could live with it since the overwhelming majority of their time is with me and is without TV.

Well...

the inauguration is Tuesday. We're having a party for the preschool set and their parents, complete with cake and noisemakers.

I realized that this is the very first time in their lives I'm going to turn on the television during the day and invite them to watch if they would like.

My family thinks I'm ridiculous anyway, but my sister got a good laugh in on me for it.

Fortunately, Tuesdays are our day to go hang out with friends who just happen to have a GIANT flatscreen TV in their livingroom with cable hookup anyway, so we'll definitely be breaking the no-TV-on-while-we're-over rule.

cnn.com is definitely showing it. Also, our local movie theater is showing it starting at 10am with Biden's swearing in. Maybe yours is too?
