Since screentime.org is no longer able to do the TV Turn-Off Weeks, I was wondering if anyone else was interested in trying to organize one. Likely it requires a group effort.

Anyone?

Bumping because this is a good idea. . .

Traditionally this has been promoted the last part of April. What did you have in mind? I'm on-board. I usually just put a sign in my front yard announceing tv-free week.

I'd get the word out to our entire school district. If some organization were to put together materials (PDF packet of family activities, games, etc), I'd post it to our all-staff and all-students e-mail folders, too.

Me+DH+DS1+DS2+Dog=me and a house full of guys, which is really just peachy, thanks.

Sorry for the delayed response.

I wasn't sure what all we'd be able to do. I just don't want to see TV-Turnoff Week fall by the wayside. I imagine our TVFreeLiving.com website could be used to help promote the event somehow. I'd like to do more than just put up a banner ad though.

Is it possible that someone could write a press release available at TVFreeLiving promoting/reminding the public of Turn-off Week? I know I'd send one to my local paper if one was already written. I'm not a great writer or I'd volunteer and I know there are some superb writers on that site. Just a thought.

Talked with the director of Screentime.org and he has said that though they will not be promoting TV-Turnoff Week 2010 the dates are April and September,
19-25
.

There is also The Great TV Rebellion of 2010 organized by the Biomimicry Institute.

Apologies for the short notice.
