Dh and I have decided to not not try to get pg. I suffered through hideous morning sickness with both my pregnancies. Is there any thing i can do now to prevent it? Taking more b vitamins for example?

Several people I know had very good results with extra B6 in their diets. There's a bunch of info if you google it too, apparently some studies were done too.

Get tested for yeast. Act as if you have yeast. Cut out sugar. Get rid of yeast.
Did I mention get rid of yeast?
I've been through 4 pregnancies with very serious HG each time. I think we have finally narrowed it doen to yeast, though I have never has a single yeast infection or any other symptom of it. Yeast can sit dormant in your system until just the right moment.
Good luck not not getting pregnant!

I have heard taking 25 (mg or g......whatever the measurement is for B6) at breakfast, lunch, dinner, and at bedtime helps significantly.

I've read of morning sickness being related to liver health. Not in the sense of failing liver panel bloodtests, but more subtle impairment of liver function. Things like milk thistle and dandelion root support liver function, and there are subtle things that IME help with liver function, things like lemon juice before breakfast (don't do that while nursing though).

I will be coming back to read this one. With our oldest not a hint of sickness unless I ate a taco salad. With the last one the sickness never ended (though I never threw up) until 8 months. I am also terrified of morning sickness again as I am currently only working on the computer and would be in trouble were the same thing to happen next time.

The only thing that made me nauseous in this pregnancy was sugar. Anything with sugar had an immediate effect. No sugar, no sickness.

I had terrible morning sickness for a long time. I was a vegetarian, and decided to try meat. From the day I ate meat on, I never was sick again. I had to continue to eat meat everyday to keep it away.

I never heard anything about liver health, but that is interesting to me. I did have liver pain and gallbladder attacks while pregnant.

And I did have terrible yeast infections. Quite interesting too. I am TTC, and will keep all this in mind for the next time around. I am treating the yeast now before I conceive, with strong ginger infusions. It took me only 3 days to remove the burning and itching of the yeast. I will see when I am pregnant if I am sick. I always wondered why ginger was supposed to help with morning sickness, but maybe it was just removing the yeast that caused sickness?

It was posted on the HG thread in the Pregnancy forum that a possible cause is h. pylori so you might consider getting tested for that. I've noticed that my m/s has gone away since I started eating hot peppers (containing capsaicin, which treats inflammation from h. pylori).
