After I gave birth to my 3rd (my 2nd VBAC) last July, I had 8 weeks straight of light to moderate postpartum bleeding. With no testing or anything, my MD passed it off as hormonal imbalance, said it was a period, and would have put me on the pill or other hormones except that I was nursing, so he said there was nothing we could do. However, I have never felt comfortable with that explanation. Has anyone ever had any experience with anything like this? I'm wondering if it's a sign that my uterus may not have been in the best of health.

After the birth of my first son, I bled for 8 weeks straight. The doctor was a little surprised, but that was the end of it. After the birth of my second son, I bled for about 2 weeks, and that was that.

So I don't think there is any real problem. If you are still worried, you may want to consult another DR.

I bled for almost 6 weeks after my first and maybe a little shorter after my second. No one seemed alarmed by it so I didn't think much about it.

Just another 8-10 weeker checking in. All four of mine.
Hope you are feeling reassured!

Wonder if continuing the RRL would make a difference?

easily 8 weeks with number one, and probably 4 to 6 with number two. Hope this helps rest your fears.
