Not sure what the correct forum for this is.. dh was going through some boxes that have yet to be unpacked from moving, and there was a plastic grocery bag that had a few things like cookie cutters, cheese shredder, and a candy thermometer. The thermometer was broken! It was definitely mercury. What should we do with the other things in the bag? Should we just run them through the dishwasher and call it good? Dispose of the whole thing? I'm not sure how paranoid I need to be

I personnaly would get rid of everything. But then again I tend to be a little more paranoid than most Maybe someone else has more technical information as to wether it should be tossed or if can be salvaged.

Google the correct way to clean it up and dispose of it. I have one too and I should get rid of it before it breaks.
