I thought this would get more traffic here than the vaccine board. Just curious about whether the vaccine is making any difference s far with people here who got it or didn't get it.

None of us got the flu shot, none have had the flu so far. I have lost my voice completely due to allergies, but I'm not sick at all. When people hear my voice, they assume I'm contagious, but I'm sure this is allergies and only allergies.

No flu in the family, no shots in the family. Dp just finished 1st trimester and we spent all morning at the ER with my three year old's *broken arm*. Continuing the compulsive handwashing....

My sister and her family had flu shots and they all got the flu- they just got over it.

We haven't had any shots or flu here.

CarrieB,, That does not sound like the flu, but rather a stomach virus of some sort. "The Flu" is fever, body aches, coughs, etc. Rarely throwing up etc.

How about had the flu before the hype and didn't get shot up?
That's our situation. All got the flu before Hallowe'en, lasted about 3 weeks total. Slept a lot, feverish for a couple of days, runny nose, cough and that's it. STILL ALIVE!

chfreind ~OUch! A broken arm! Boy that sucks. Hope your child is healing well.
No shots, no flu so far here. We did have some sort of upper resp. thing with a sore throat, fever and coughing for what seemed like forever tho. I have little hope the flu will skip our home as DD gets every respitory illness in the universe. we have been washing hands and trying to aviod crowds.....today I bought vit. C for all and a multi-vit for the kids. Stocked up on DD's meds just in case she gets it while it is snowing :
We actually tryed to get it, but turns out in our area dd (who is 2 and has asthma/allergies) is not high risk enough to get the shot. They are only giving it to elderly and to kids who have really bad health problems.
CarrieB, sorry honey, but I agree with Nankay....you all sound like you had a nasty stomach bug!
I hope every one escapes the flu season unscathed!

The Tabbie Family; DH , DS , DD , a few :, a couple : and me.

We didn't get the flu shots (never have) and didn't get the flu, but the kids and I did get bad colds. Lots of coughing, runny noses, and some sneezing, along with laryngitis, but no fever, chills, aches, etc., that go with the flu.

Didn't get the shot and symptoms started an hour ago, I can’t believe how fast this thing is hitting. I'm the only one at the office but thankfully we close in 5 minutes then I’m going home and straight to bed! Oddly enough I stopped by the health food store on the way to work to get some of the oscilloc whatchamacallit just in case! I hope to heaven it works because i'm sure I sent that memo to the universe that for once we will be well and not in a hospital for xmas! Lets hope they got that memo…

Seriously?
