My 2 yo ds was hospitalized two weeks ago b/c he had 15 seizures in a day and a half. While there, he was dx with the flu. The whole experience was very frightening and traumatic for all of us. First they thought it was febrile seizures, which isn't terribly uncommon in infants and toddlers. But it IS uncommon to have so many like he did. He had lots of tests in the hospital, which all came back normal. We were referred to a pedi neurologist, who we saw last week. He thinks it was not febrile, and wants to do some more tests.

Has your child had seizures? Any similar experiences to mine, i.e., having so many in a short period of time?

Doing my best every day with DH , DD (11) , and DS (4)

I don't have seizure experience but I can bump!
I wanted you to know that your post might be seen by more seizure moms if you cross post in special needs.

My daughter had a febrile seizure recently and it was very scary for all of us. It must have been very hard to see your little one go through 15 of them. I wish I had some advice; just wanted to let you know I'm sorry you are having to experience this.

In November 2007, when my daughter was 2 years old she had one febrile seizure after her temperature spiked to 105 or 106. It was very scary - probably one of the most scary experiences in my life so far. We went to the ER via the ambulance. Since then she has been ok and no seizures at all with other colds/flu (knock on wood).

I hope you get some answers soon.

Normal is just a setting on your dryer.
