My son has a fever (and stuffy/runny nose). He started getting some spots on his face and a couple of them look fluid filled.

Doc said "I doubt it's cp because they start to appear on the trunk".

Now ds has spots on his arms (also fluid filled). There aren't a lot of them right now. They aren't terribly itchy.

CP is going around right now.

So, I'm just wondering if this could indeed be pox. Or just a random virus.

I have a funny story when I was exposing my kids to cp, my daughter did not like the way her friend Julia looked with the spots! Lo and behold she only got it on her feet, a very mild case. (we tested her immunity, so yes it was cp). My husband treated her with acupuncture and she is very strong, so I guess that was it for her!
So I would say, though there is a normal progression, there's also different ways to get cp, my son got a more conventional case.

Ok, it's not cp. He now has a rash on his neck, trunk, arms and spreading downward. For the most part, it's not raised.

Too bad no cp, it's good to get that out of the way. If he were a babe I'd say Roseola?
