A few weeks ago DH noticed that DD had a very red tonsil. I've been trying to get a look since then but DD won't cooperate so at best I've gotten the occassional milisecond look. Finally tonight I got her to open wide and got a good glimse on 2 very swollen tonsils with angry red streaks. From what I have been able to see I think they've been like this for a minimum of 2 weeks. She hasn't been running an obvious fever and hasn't been acting sick, although she has had trouble falling asleep at night, has been more refluxy than usual and threw up once a few days ago. She also has been snoring for at least a month, maybe longer.

Anyone have ideas as to what would cause tonsilitis that lasts this long in a generally healthy looking toddler?

Don't really know... but did want to say that both reflux and snoring could probably contribute. What about allergies? Drainage at night has irritated my tonsils - it is usually worse on one side depending on which side you sleep most.
