To make vitamin D your sun exposure needs to be direct and needs to be durring peak times (10-2). When the suns rays are most direct.
Somehow I doubt many Floridians are getting much exposure like that.

I personally was shocked at how low my D was when tested. I never wear sunscreen. I take CLO and I'm a sahm to young kids. I'm outside a lot. I'm now taking supplements and my level is much better.

One of the few sources of Vitamin D in food is eggs from chickens allowed to spend their days outside in the sun. If you can get your hands on fresh, free range eggs from the farm, that could help a bit.

Can you replenish alot of vit d at once? Say if you spend 4 hours on the weekend vs being out several times a week for 15 min? I live right on the waterway in Florida and the weekends are full with people out in the sun (boating etc)so "some" people are getting alot of vit D.
