Can probiotics cause diarrhea? - Mothering Forums

We ran out and didn't have any for a while. I got some more and my kids seem to be having tummy issues. We've used this brand before. It could be just a bug or something, but there are no other real symptoms. Just the loose stools. They gave my 2 year old an awful diaper rash.

You can certainly be intolerant to a specific probiotic (say it's dairy based) or intolerant to them altogether.
I'd pull them now and see if that changes things. If it does try an allergen free brand like Klaire labs or kirkman labs. If that doesn't work use biotin and no probiotic.

Yes, probiotics can cause loose stools. Try cutting back and see if that helps.

When we are sick I give massive amounts of probiotics which then cause loose stool but, once I cut back to our normal amount we are back to normal
