like many, either have the start of swine flu or regular flu, and would like to try the herb tulsi. anyone know if this is safe while breastfeeding? i looked on the mountain rose herbs website, and it says not to use if pregnant or nursing, but maybe they are being cautious. thanks!

This was discussed here last month - maybe you can find the thread. But a gal from India said that is quite commonly drunk by lactating women in India, where the herb originates.
There's more info here:

though not specific to nursing.

There's mixed reviews, but I was always taught it was perfectly safe and indeed I did use it quite a lot while nursing. Lovely stuff, that.

I have been drinking it 2X/day and I am nursing a 6-month old...but that doesn't mean it's a good thing to do!
