I haven't personally, but do a search on the Traditional Foods forum and you should find the thread where it was discussed quite a bit.

I quickly looked at the book and at the site, and these are my conclusions:

1. The author has no medical training. Saying that he graduated from A medical school in Russia in 1976 is as vague as one can get. Russia is famous for its medical schools. If he indeed graduated from one, there would be no logical reason not to name it.

2. The above suggests that he is quite possibly a fraud.

3. There are a number of factual inaccuracies in his book.

4. The book is self published--always a warnning sign. And there are no credible reviews on amazon. By credible I mean an official third party review.

5. He sells his own supplements quite aggressively. Another warning sign.

6. I think it is quite an elaborate and well executed scam targeted at those who are dissatisfied with the American way of eating and what is presented to us as a healthy way (low fat, high carbs.) I'm sure he has an eager audience. He might be even sincere in his beliefs.

Since I know at least 3 people with fibre caused IBS, including my husband, I'm quite certain it isn't the miracle item all it's promoters want us to think it is

I think he's right: fiber is NOT good for us. I find his explanations for how fiber causes constipation and diarrhea plausible.

The fact that he's not a doctor doesn't bother me because in my experience mainstream western doctors seem to know less about healing than a lot of other people.

I think everything in moderation.

There's been an overemphasis on fibre...putting it into every possible food as well as supplementing, and the body just doesn't do well with extremes. It's all about homeostasis and the balance.

I think fibre is necessary, but not in the vast quantities touted these days.

I have the book and it did help in my mental process of shifting to a more primal/paleo diet. I agree that medical training has little to do with understanding of nutrition and how our bodies work.
