A relative had surgery done for SUI, Cystocele and Enterocele. They did a vaginal surgery that put in a mesh thing. She had a catheter sent home with her then removed for a week and now has it again. She is 3 weeks post surgery. She also has a UTI and possibly a yeast infection (which occurs for her often). She is on abx and pain medician. I have her taking cran caps, grapefruitseed extract and probiotics to help with the UTI and yeast.
I'm just wondering if anyone knows about what the normal recovery is. She said she is hot and cold (similar to hot flash but not the same) and feels like something just isn't right inside. Her doc is just saying if she doesn't have a fever then it is fine. She just does not feel well at all.
She does suffer from depression and excess anxiety/worry. So we wonder if their really is something going on or if it's just normal recovery and it's more of a mental thing? She did go off her depression meds during the surgery and will be starting a new one in a few weeks. FYI she had 4 kids and is in her 50's has had hysterectomy in 30s and is going through menopause.
Thanks for any advice or insight. I'm at a loss as to what to do for her other than empathy.
