I have had a rash on my breast for 3 months and finally put some tea tree on it and it almost went away. I had already made a Drs appointment so i went ahead and went and she said it was some type of fungus similar to ringworm. She wrote me a prescription for some kind of cream but I would rather go natural. Any ideas or suggestions beyond tea tree oil? I am nursing.

TIA
Shelly

Don't know about contraindications with nursing....but I treated an outbreak of ringworm recently with garlic pills and zinc tablets (garlic is anti-fungal, zinc to support immune response). I had it all over (work with animals....), and it was gone in a week. I used the miconazole cream for the first couple days, but then just stopped because the response was so immediate (and I know from past experience that miconazole doesn't work that quickly for me).

Grapefruit seed extract is a powerful antifungal. Dilute in water and apply to the breast and babies mouth. It has no ordor but the taste is bitter. I have used in DS's mouth and he doesn't mind.

They also make a non-soap cleanser that I use in the shower on my breasts. You need to be taking probiotics and other oral antifungals...Pau D'Arco, chlorophyll, garlic, echinacea etc. Even GSE liquid or tabs...olive leaf. Make sure you are taking your multiples and a good essential fatty acid.
