I have gained a lot of weight n the past two years, so joined a gym 3mo. ago. I exercise everyday, but found the weight management this time is different and difficult. I'm 43, and start to notice some change in my periods. I have lost a scary amount of hair after giving births to my children. My mom had thyroid cancer (removed twice.) I have seen some discussion here about thyroid issues, but very confused about this hormone issue. Part of me wants to go get blood test, but then what? What MD can recommend is to get on medication. I'm not sure what other options are out there. Anyone??
