Long story short, I've always felt I was hypothyroid. (LOTS of symptoms)

Tests never confirmed.

Finally found a doc who would give me a trial on Armour desicated thyroid.

I'm on day 4 of meds now with a dosage of 30mg per day.

Here are my questions. And thank you to any who respond.

I am taking it first thing in the morning at least 30 minutes before I eat/take vitamins.

I have read about using it sublingually or chewing it. Would this be better than just swallowing it, as I have been?

My doc is wanting to check my TSH at the end of the 30 day trial and go from there. I'm concerned that it's not long enought to truly tell if the meds are doing any good. Any suggestions?

Should I be/start feeling better this early or am I being too hopeful?
TIA!

That's a really low dose and IMO 4 days may not be long enough to feel a difference. That said, I felt better after only a day or two after starting on Armour. Yes, many ppl prefer to let it dissolve between cheek and gum. I started out doing that then ended up just swallowing it and did't notice any difference. Some say they do though.

30 days may be long enough for the TSH to move some - though I doubt much given the low dose you are taking. And TSH doesn't really tell much overall anyway. You're better off going by elimination of symptoms IMO if you are lucky enough to have a hcp that will let you.

Good luck - I know how frustrating these things can be.

I hope you feel better soon!

I have already noticed alleviation of my afternoon tiredness and the swelling in my ankles and feet is gone. Hoping that it's not just all in my head.

Maybe your doc just wants to test your levels to make sure it's the proper dosage of meds. Hope it works and glad to hear some symptoms are already being alleviated. I have hyperthyroid and it's truly so frustrating to deal with any thyroid issues. Good luck!
