Not sure the right forum for this but...

My 4 y.o. has had various NT episodes at night.

But today it seemed to occur during the day.

He fell asleep on the way home from school.  It's just the worst when this happens.  He slept hard from 4:30-6:30.  He awoke soaked with urine, screaming, crying, shaking, and babbling.  He was telling me that he stepped in the pile over and over again.  I gently tried to ask him questions.  Generally it unfolded that he was telling me his nightmare.  He believed it was still happening for at least 10 minutes.  Gradually he started seeing that it was not real.

Anyhow, he was shaking and disturbed for over an hour.  He was very upset that dad was not home from work.  He began to feel more comfortable when daddy had returned.

I have not seen exactly this sort of thing with him.  I guess the shaking and fearfulness was most disturbing to me.  I'm wondering if this would be a type of night terror or other sleep disturbance.  I'm positive that it was caused by the late, awful nap.
