I need info on testing.  My family dr said I should be tested due to interstitial cystitis and thyroid issues I had during my second pregnancy (hyper).  However, my thyroid returned to normal completely after baby was delivered.  No one has figured that out (not him, not the endocrinologist, not my acupuncturist). He almost didn't test me b/c my thyroid antibodies were never abnormal, and he said that they are usually abnormal when Lyme is present.  He said almost all his IC patients had Lyme.  However, I also have endometriosis, and I know that endo and IC can go hand and hand.  Anyway, I pushed for the testing just to make sure b/c I have since read it can be transmitted via pregnancy and breastfeeding.  He says that the Western blot test he uses is much better, more accurate at picking it up, and that he'll diagnose it with 1 band instead of 3 or 4.  So they called today and said it was negative.  My question is - is this good enough or do I need to go further say with the Igenex lab?  He seems to diagnose it a bunch, so I don't know.
