Can anyone give me any information about how to heal damage caused by hormonal birth control? Many of my symptoms (brain fog, weight gain, exercise intolerance, etc.) seem to have started when I began hormonal birth control.  I took birth control from 2005 - 2008, so it's been awhile since I've taken it but it just seems like some of my symptoms I just can't shake. Just for reference, I am have been on the GAPS diet for over a year. Thank you for any direction you can give me.

To my knowledge, hormonal BC doesn't cause permanent changes to your body. I'd consider the possibility that age and pregnancy are more likely culprits; you may want to consider checking in with your doc to start with a blood test for thyroid function, etc.

Can't hormonal birth control, i.e. the "pill" cause systemic yeast problems?

Why would it? It's not an antibiotic that would impact bacterial floras, but I admit this isn't my area of expertise. Do you have any other resources on this?
