Hi

My daughter is anemic so I need to start giving her iron supplements. I want to give her Floradix, but it has an aftertaste that she doesn't like. I've tried mixing it with orange juice. Just wondering what other moms do to get their toddlers to take iron. TIA

Liquid Iron by Integrative Therapeutics, cinnamon flavor tastes a lot better than Floradix. The cinnamon flavor isn't very strong - it mostly just tastes sweet. You should be able to mix it easily into whatever she drinks. It also is less likely than Floradix to cause stomach upset, even though Floradix is pretty good in that regard. Also it is so absorbable that you can usually get away with giving less than the full dose.  I got my first bottle from a naturopath but have found it on Amazon so now I just order from there.

Thanks I'll check that out.

She had blood test for celiac but I know it's not reliable. Been considering gene test by enterolabs. Why do celiacs have probs with anemia because of the absorption issues?

Yes, and low weight gain. I don't know too much about celiac except for my friend's 18 mth daughter who was FTT and it was pretty scary how low weight she was; after numerous tests she finally tested positive for celiac and now is gaining. I'm mostly just replying to bump. I hope you get some good answers.
