My one-year-old was diagnosed at 6 months, although he had symptoms at two months, but neither I or the pediatrician thought it was anything to worry about. It seems like it started after two month shots, then flared up more at four and by six months I was convinced it's a vaccine reaction. Has anyone dealt with it?

Thank you!

cutaneous mastocytosis

Hi, my son has cutaneous mastocytosis. His first spot was visible before vaccinations. We denied all vaccinations until he was 3 months old. He is 2 1/2 years old and was formally diagnosed this past November. We have good days and bad days. He reacts to temperature, insect venom & foods. On bad days he says his skin hurts, has hives, rashes, blistering rashes, he's lethargic and flushed. He frequently has diarrhea. He will also flush and sweat when he sleeps as his mast cells degranulate. There are some wonderful websites which you may have already found… mastokids.org, http://www.tmsforacure.org, http://www.mastocytosis.ca/index.htm, plus several support groups on Facebook.

My daughter has UP! She's almost 5 and her reactions have been minimal. Her spots number about 50. She reacts most to fresh cut grass, insect bites, and foods, especially gluten. She frequently has diarrhea. She has no vaccinations this far but is set to begin in about two weeks. Can't wait to hear from you! Do you expect improvement? We don't see any yet, but are hopeful!
