I have been hearing a lot about digestive enzymes & I'm considering trying them. But it seems like I've been spending so much $$ on supplements, I'm wary of starting with yet another.

A little background: I've been struggling with nutritional deficiencies for over a year now (including D, iron, B12 & magnesium). I was an unhealthy vegetarian for decades (!) & about 1 1/2 years ago I radically changed my diet to a whole foods diet with meat. Well, it hasn't quite fixed my deficiency issues. I keep losing my hair & bad skin persists. Gut issues are also ongoing. My levels of stress are getting better & more manageable.

I took the adrenal saliva test & definitely have some fatigue. Sleep is interrupted due to too high cortisol. I'm taking supplements to support adrenal function, but I'm not sure they're doing much. I take probiotics, though I rely more & more on fermented foods for that lately. I take iron, a high dose b complex, D, CLO & magnesium.

So should I also be taking enzymes? My doc doesn't want me on the adrenal support forever & says I need to do more gut healing. I've been on an elimination diet with no clear results & I'm pretty much on SCD/GAPS. But improvements are not happening & I am not coming up with definitive food aversions & I'm super frustrated.

So... Would digestive enzymes help? Thanks so much!!!

Mama to my little busy bee.

It looks like your post might have been missed, so I'm bumping it up for attention. :bump: I don't know anything about digestive enzymes, but hopefully someone else will jump in soon with their experiences.
