Is there a way to keep my hair from coming out so much while being treated for hypothyroid? I am a little depressed too and losing so much hair everyday is adding to it. I hate to be vain but I like having hair, it's one of the few things I have that I like, especially right now.

How long does it take for emotions to regulate with treatment? I have been up and down emotionally and I really don't like this.

I don't have any solutions, but I do feel for you.  I've always had really thick hair, it ran in my family.  In the last few years that I've been hypothyroid, it's become so thin.  I hope it doesn't stay like this forever...

Hypothyroidism can certainly cause hair loss, but you may want to make sure you are getting adequate iron and vitamin c.
Anemia causes hair loss.
Vitamin C increases the iron absorption.

They checked for anemia and vitamin/mineral deficiencies and my thyroid was the only deficient thing.
