Has anyone ever tried chaga? I got some from someone who harvested it locally in the woods around these parts and had ground it into a powder for tea bags. I was told to brew it like regular tea, just let it steep for longer but am finding lots of different opinions on the internet on how to make it to get the most out of it. I wanted to ask the Mothering community to see if anyone has personal experience using it and how they make it?
Just wanted to update in case anyone was curious or searched it out in the future. I have been brewing it like a regular tea but letting it brew for hours at a time to try and increase concentration. I have been drinking a cup everyday for about a week now and I think it's actually making me have more energy! I also feel like sometimes I crave it (even though it doesn't really taste like anything) and I take that as a good sign. If anyone is interested it is basically a fungus found on white and yellow birch trees that is ground into a powder to be brewed and drank. I think you can buy it on the internet already in tea bags also.
